ADS- WHAT ARE THEY SELLING?

Advertising is a form of communication used to help sell products and services. Typically it communicates a message including the name of the product or service and how that product or service could potentially benefit the consumer. However, advertising does typically attempt to persuade potential customers to purchase or to consume more of a particular brand of product or service.
- Get attention
- Hold attention
- Create desire
- Make it believable
- Prove it’s a bargain
- Make it easy to buy
- Give a reason to buy now
The traditional model for creating any advertising or marketing communications message is the AIDA Model: get Attention, h
old Interest, arouse Desire, and then obtainAction.
An even newer model is Interrupt, Engage, Educate and then Offer. In any of these models, the f
irst step is to somehow get a person's attention.
Now look at the ad below and comment on how you think the product is being sold to the
consumer.
